Pulling an Erickson: Week 4 Picks

In 1995, the Seattle Seahawks hired Dennis Erickson, the coach of the Miami Hurricanes without meeting him in person. Owner Ken Behring, after one phone conversation, made the offer. Erickson took over a team that had won just 14 games in the past 3 years and after a slow start, brought them to respectability. Then, despite adding waves of talent, having multiple future hall of famers on the roster, Erickson held the Seahawks firmly in the throes of mediocrity. In four seasons at the helm, Erickson finished 8-8 three times. He returned to the NFL in 2003, narrowing missing his coveted 8-8 record by blowing a 14-0 lead in the last game of the season against the Seahawks.

That’s a long way of saying we went 8-8 on our picks last week. Our overall record sits at an Ericksonlike 23-23. So, let’s try this again.
