MLB Pick'Em 07/17
First full week after the all-star break. It seems like every team in the American League is still in playoff contention and that will make for an interesting trade deadline. Teams don't know if they should stand pat or go for it. Will be fascinating.

Nationals (Stasburg) vs Reds (Adleman)
Stephen Strasburg is pitching well and that offense is humming along again. I like the Nationals to win very comfortably in this one today.
Blue Jays (Stroman) vs Red Sox (Rodriguez)
Marcus Stroman has been pitching well lately, looking for his fourth straight quality start, but he often struggles against the Red Sox. I think his most recent history will trump his longer history and he will pitch effective today. I like the Blue Jays in a low scoring game in this one.
Pick: Blue Jays
Brewers (Suter) vs Pirates (Kuhl)
The Brewers have won 11 out of their last 14. The Pirates have won 7 out of 9. One of these will have to give as these two open up a four game series in Pittsburgh. If the Pirates have a shot at the division they need to make up some ground on the Brewers, and this is the perfect time to do it. It won’t be today though. The Brewers will take the opener of the series behind the pitching of Brent Suter.
Rangers (Cashman) vs Orioles (Tillman)
Chris Tillman has not won a game since his first start of the season. I think that trend will continue.
Cardinals (Wainwright) vs Mets (Wheeler)
If it isn’t Jacob DeGrom pitching for the Mets I don’t like their chances. Plus, the Cardinals always seem to score a lot of runs when Adam Wainwright is on the mound. I like the Cardinals in this one.
Phillies (Eickhoff) vs Marlins (Koehler)
Cubs (Lester) vs Braves (Teheran)
I am going to go with the team that is playing better baseball right now. It is not the Chicago Cubs. I did not think there was any chance that the Braves would be playing .500 baseball but here we are. I like the Braves to stay hot and get the better of Lester and the Cubs today.
Mariners (Miranda) vs Astros (McCullers)
The Mariners swept away the White Sox and their reward is a date with the Astros. They played well against a shitty team. Let’s see how they do against the Leagues best.
Yankees (Mitchell) vs Twins (Mejia)
This is an easy pick for me. The Yankees are in a lot of trouble with their pitching. I think that continues and the Twins will get the win today.
Padres (Perdomo) vs Rockies (Marquez)
The Rockies are scuffling a bit as of late, and usually the remedy for that is playing the Padres. The Padres and the Phillies are the two teams you want to see if you are struggling, as you can usually turn it around against those teams. Like the Rockies will do today.
Rays (Odorizzi) vs Athletics (Gossett)
The Athletics won again yesterday to sweep aside the 2016 American League Champion Cleveland Indians. Now they are facing another team that is riding high in the Tampa Bay Rays. I think the winning streak ends today for Oakland, as Jake Odorizzi stymies them and gets the win.
Indians (Tomlin) vs Giants (Moore)
Speaking of the Indians, what a horrible way to start out the second half of the season. They must have been licking their chops at playing two last place teams back to back right out of the all-star break. After getting swept by the Athletics, they must be wondering what happened. I think they will turn it around today against the Giants, and avoid going 0-4 out of the break.
