Here are today's picks:

Indians (Tomlin) vs Orioles (Tillman)

Chris Tillman has an ERA over 8, and now he gets to against one of the hottest teams in baseball. The Indians have won six games in a row to take over the lead in the American League Central. There could be some fireworks in this one, as Josh Tomlin hasn’t been pitching well either. At the end of the day I like the Indians to keep it rolling and get the win.

Pick: Indians

Cardinals (Leake) vs Philies (Hellickson)

It is now the St Louis Cardinals turn to get right against the Phillies. I think they will starting today. Leake gets the win and the Phillies get another loss.

Pick: Cardinals

Angels (Bridwell) vs Yankees (Pineda)

Pineda is the guy the Yankees want on the mound to halt a six game losing streak. It doesn’t hurt that they are back in the friendly confines of Yankee Stadium as well. Despite the six game losing streak the Yankees are still in first place in their division. Today they exact some revenge against the team that started that losing streak in the Angels, and Pineda gets them back on the right track.

Pick: Yankees

Nationals (Gonzalez) vs Marlins (Volquez)

Right about the outcome but wrong about how it got there. I thought Tanner Roark would quiet the Marlins bats, but he did not make it out of the third inning. Fortunately for him, his offense built up enough of a cushion that he did not get the loss. In the game today I like Edinson Volquez and the Marlins to get the win and even up the series.

Pick: Marlins

Reds (Garrett) vs Rays (Cobb)

I really want to pick the Reds. I am enjoying the Rays at .500 game probably more than I should be. However I will not be picking the Reds, because Amir Garrett should not be in a Major League rotation. Now that Bronson Arroyo is gone, Garrett is next.

Pick: Rays

Giants (Moore) vs Braves (Teheran)

I am so frustrated with the Giants. I still don’t feel bad for their fans though. You guys have won three World Series this decade. Don’t get greedy!

Pick: Braves

Pirates (Kuhl) vs Brewers (Davies)

Another pitcher that shouldn’t be in a Major League rotation is Chad Kuhl. The Pirates keep throwing him out there every fifth day and he keeps struggling to keep the team in games. Today will be no different. Brewers even up the series.

Pick: Brewers

Blue Jays (Liriano) vs Rangers (Martinez)

Nick Martinez was supposed to get moved it the bullpen once Tyson Ross came back. He is making another start as Andrew Cashner got sent to the DL. The Rangers number six starter is pitching against a team that hits a lot of home runs in a park that sees a lot of home runs hit. I like the Blue Jays in this one.

Pick: Blue Jays

Padres (Chacin) vs Cubs (Montgomery)

Mike Montgomery has two distinct records to his name. He is the first player in baseball history to have his first career save be the World Series clinching game and he also has the Cubs record for most consecutive starts without a win to begin a Cubs tenure. Today is the day he gets back in the win column for the first time in 2017. He has been pitching too well to not have a win to show for it.

Pick: Cubs

White Sox (Holland) vs Twins (Santana)

This is who the Twins want on the mound the next two days to snap a long winning streak. First Ervin Santana than Jose Berrios. I think Berrios is amazing but Santana has been the anchor of the pitching staff all year long. I like the Twins to get back in the win column today behind the right arm of Santana.

Pick: Twins

Red Sox (Sale) vs Royals (Strahm)

If the Royals win today they will get back to .500. They won’t get back to .500 today.

Pick: Red Sox

Diamondbacks (Greinke) vs Rockies (Marquez)

This is going to be aa fun series. Record wise these are the two best teams in the National League. I thought the Rockies were going to battle for a playoff spot this year, but I am very impressed with how the Diamondbacks have played. It helps when you have two of the better starting pitchers in baseball in Zack Greinke and Robbie Ray. Today Greinke takes the ball and once again leads Arizona to victory.

Pick: Diamondbacks

Mets (Gsellman) vs Dodgers (McCarthy)

Is it a bold prediction if I think Cody Bellinger hits another home run today. The kid already has 21 bombs and hit two more yesterday. Between him in the National League and Aaron Judge in the American League, you could have two rookies lead their respective leagues in home runs. I don’t know if he will hit another one today but I do think the Dodgers will get the win.

Pick: Dodgers

Astros (Martes) vs Athletics (Gray)

Sonny Gray is pitching against a team he very well could end up pitching for in a couple of months. Gray will be one of the hottest names come the trade deadline, and with all the injuries the Astros rotation is going through they could give Gray a long look. I think he makes them ponder it even more today with a solid outing and a win.

Pick: Athletics

Mariners (Miranda) vs Tigers (Zimmermann)

Yesterday was Anibal Sanchez. Today it is Jordan Zimmermann. Two high priced pitchers that are not pitching to the albatross of their contracts they signed. I think the Mariners stay hot and get another win and creep ever so closer to that magical .500 mark.

Pick: Mariners
