NBA Pick'Em 04/26: Playoffs

Thanks for visiting the page of fire! Where the picks are so hot they melt through your hand before they get to your mouth. Hope you have some insurance, because you'll be needing bionic hands someday. These picks likely burned through ligaments, but regardless, you now have muscle loss and extreme nerve damage. I think you should count yourself lucky I didn't go with a "spittin' fire" reference. The picks get a lot harder now, as we have two tied series playing for the lead.

April Yesterday (25th), 2017 Picks:

Thunder @ Rockets, pick Rockets, WON
Grizzlies @ Spurs, pick Spurs, WON
Jazz @ Clippers, pick Jazz, WON

Yesterday's Record: 3-0
Playoff Record: 27-9

April Today (26th), 2017 Picks:

Atlanta Hawks @ Washington Wizards

Jose Calderon played out of his mind for the Hawks. He had 3 steals, 5 assists, 10 points, and 2 rebounds. If we think of Calderon's game with Purchasing power parity, those stats are instantly inflated to 12 steals, 20 assists, 40 points, and 8 rebounds. And don't get this confused with "per 36" stats, my made-up calculations are solely based on what those numbers mean to a 35-year-old Spanish point guard whose first-name is Jose.
Pick: Wizards

Chicago Bulls @ Boston Celtics

This is why NBA playoff series are fun. You see real-time strategy. Coaching matters. Unlike that stupid game with the bat and the bases. The only thing that changes is the pitching, which fluctuates wildly from one game to the next. Nope, not the NBA. Here, only starting line-ups can be changed. Which... fluctuate wildly from one game to the next. Hey! Stop poking holes in my hatred of the MLB. The metaphor basically works, I'm just too lazy to reorganize the troops for another logic ambush. What I'm saying is that the Celtics went small, because they were getting beat going big. The Bulls cannot go small. They can expect a better game from Wade, who maybe forgot he is being relied to play well. I guess they can also expect Rondo back, which might work if he can get after it defensively. But honestly, I think Thomas knows what he's doing for the Bulls. I don't mean to be insensitive, but if he's going through stages of grief after his loss, he might be in the "anger" stage and that's bad for the bulls.
Pick: Celtics
