MLB Pick'Em 04/26
Welcome lucky ones to MLB Pick'Em 2017! If you're unaware, we decide the fate of teams of men. These men have bats and a hard ball. Well, one group has bats and they try to avoid letting the ball be hurled past them. If they succeed at stopping the balls desire to reach a glove, they advance to various bases. See, they ball always wants to be in a glove. But if they men can traverse enough bases while the ball is not in a glove, then they're winning. Each team must navigate the balls mission to find a glove. Whichever team makes a fool of the ball more wins. We predict those wins. Without further adieu.

April Today (26th), 2017 Picks:
Reds (Davis) vs Brewers (Peralta)
Eric Thames hit another home run yesterday. He is killing Reds pitching and now gets to face a pitcher named Rookie. I like his chances for one more today. I also like the chances for the Brewers to get another win and sweep aside the Reds.
Royals (Karns) vs White Sox (Qunitana)
Jose Quintana is still looking for his first win of the season. Quintana is 0-4 so far this year but today he gets to face the worst offense in the American League today so I like his chances. Kansas City scored five runs yesterday, which was the first time in a week they scored more than two. That is not good. The struggles continue for the Royals and the White Sox get the win.
Pick: White Sox
Astros (McCullers) vs Indians (Bauer)
The Astros just tied the franchise record for the best 20 game start at 14-6. Trevor Bauer is 5-0 in five starts against the Astros in his career with an ERA under 2. With all of the uncertainty in the Astros outfield with Jake Marisnick and George Springer not 100%, I like the Indians chance to get the win today.
Yankees (Severino) vs Red Sox (Porcello)
This was lifted from the picks yesterday. The Yankees-Red Sox rivalry has their first game of 2017 today, as Severino and Porcello square off at Fenway Park. The Yankees have been good at home this year but have struggled on the road and are now facing the reigning Cy Young winner. Rick Porcello hasn’t pitched well this year but today he will shut down the Yankees offense and get back on the winning side.
Pick: Red Sox
Rays (Cobb) vs Orioles (Bundy)
The Orioles still haven’t lost a series so far in 2017. Tampa Bay looks to be the first team to take a series from them when they hand the ball to Alex Cobb. The Orioles will counter with Dylan Bundy, who is now pitching like the first round pick they thought he would be. Sorry Rays fans but I like Bundy and the Orioles to win today and take another series.
Marlins (Chen) vs Phillies (Velasquez)
This was lifted from the picks yesterday. The last time Wei-Yin Chen pitched he threw seven no hit innings. Safe to say he is riding high right now. Meanwhile Vince Velasquez is looking for his first win of the year. He will not get it today. Velasquez throws hard but has no command and is prone to giving up the long ball. He has given up four home runs in three starts and I think he gives up at least two more today.
Cubs (Lester) vs Pirates (Glasnow)
Jon Lester has pitched well so far this year but has no record to show for it. His team can’t score runs while he is on the hill but that will change today. The Cubs will hit Tyler Glasnow around and win another series, giving Lester his first win of 2017.
Mariners (Paxton) vs Tigers (Norris)
What a horrible day for the Mariners yesterday. They lose their best hitter so far this year and their opening day starter. Plus they lost 19-9. I will say I haven’t seen a team have a day that bad in awhile. The good news is now they are giving the ball to their best starting pitcher. James Paxton will momentarily stop the bleeding for the Mariners and will get the win today.
Braves (Teheran) vs Mets (Syndergaard)
I can’t lift my prediction from yesterdays game as the Mets are throwing Syndergaard instead of Gsellman. That changes my pick. I am going with the Mets to win this game now as I have a lot more confidence in Thor than I do in Gsellman.
Twins (Santiago) vs Rangers (Hamels)
Cole Hamels will be looking to build off a strong last start and now gets the ball against the Twins in Arlington. He has struggled in his career against the Twins but I still think that he will have success today. He always pitches well at home and while the Twins lineup is better than the Royals, I still like Hamels to pick up win number two today.
Blue Jays (Latos) vs Cardinals (Martinez)
Can the Jays win two in a row for the first time this season? Not with Mat Latos on the mound. This gets out of hand early for an easy Cardinals victory.
Nationals (Roark) vs Rockies (Chatwood)
I knew yesterday was going to be a high scoring game between these two teams. I did not think that 27 runs would be scored. Gotta love Coors Field. Today runs will be a little scarcer as these two pitchers actually have some talent. Neither one of these pitchers have much a track record against the opponent, so I am going to go with Roark and the Nationals because I trust him more than Chatwood.
Padres (Cahill) vs Diamondbacks (Godley)
This is the game the Padres have the best chance to win in the series. They are throwing Trevor Cahill, who has pitched well so far, against a rookie making his first career start. The Padres need to get on the board early against the kid and make him feel some pressure. They do that and they win the game.
Athletics (Manaea) vs Angels (Shoemaker)
I don’t feel so bad about not knowing who to pick yesterday. Neither team wanted to win the game either. It was 0-0 heading to extra innings when both teams scored a run in the tenth and eventually the Angels got the winning run in the eleventh. Today is a little easier for me. Shoemaker is not that good. Manaea has the talent. I am going with the Athletics.
Dodgers (Wood) vs Giants (Cueto)
The Dodgers finally got a win against a left-handed pitcher! They only scored two runs against him but hey a win is a win. Johnny Cueto is not a left-handed pitcher but he is very good. He will shut down the Dodgers offense and the Giants will even up the series today.
